Safety Protocols | eta Creative Arts Foundation

As we operate at full capacity, we have implemented the following protocols developed in consultation with expert public health guidance and in alignment with Chicago’s performing arts sector. We encourage you to confirm current protocols prior to your visit; all policies, including ticketing and attendance, are subject to change based on evolving guidance from the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the CDC. As this guidance is rapidly evolving, so may our protocols. Full refunds will be made available to any parties wishing to cancel their tickets for any reason.

We anticipate maintaining these protocols (until such time that prevailing medical guidance allows for a relaxation of certain policies).

VACCINATIONS

In addition to a valid ticket, to be permitted to enter the building:

  • Guests ages 12 and older will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine. “Fully vaccinated” means that the performance date must be at least 14 days after receiving the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose vaccine. This vaccine requirement will also apply to eta Creative Arts Theatre artists and staff.

  • Guests ages 5-11 will need proof of ONE dose of an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine at least 14 days before the performance date.

  • Guests ages 4 and under, while not eligible for vaccination, may present a recent negative test for entry (details below). Please note that children four and under are not recommended for eta Creative Arts Events.

Proof of vaccination—displayed either on a smartphone or with a physical copy of the vaccination card—must be presented at time of entry into the building (along with their performance ticket). Together with the proof of vaccination, all guests 18 years or older must also present a government-issued photo ID. Guests younger than 18 may use a government-issued photo ID or school photo ID.

Exceptions will be made for unvaccinated children under the age of 12 and for guests who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exception or a sincerely held religious belief. In those cases, guests must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time, or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time. Over-the-counter “home” tests cannot be accepted.

For your safety, as well as our artists and staff, eta Creative Arts will not admit any guests who do not provide the documentation as required above.

TESTING RESOURCES

Below are helpful resources in scheduling a COVID-19 test, should you require one before visiting the eta.

FACE COVERINGS

Regardless of vaccine status, patrons will be required to wear face coverings at all times and in all areas of the building, including while seated during performances. Patrons arriving without appropriate face coverings will be provided a disposable face mask.

DISTANCING

The protocols outlined in this plan allow Eta Creative Arts Foundation to safely operate at full audience capacity. As such, there will not be physical distancing between parties during events.

SANITIZATION AND SURFACES

In addition to enhanced cleaning procedures between every event, hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout Eta Creative Arts Foundation.

RISK ASSUMPTION

All patrons understand that there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. Those purchasing tickets and attending Eta Creative Arts Foundation productions voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

TICKET DELIVERY

Tickets will be delivered electronically by email. Your printed ticket or your electronic ticket on your phone will be scanned upon entering the building.
