What is the correlation of 3D Printing and costume design?  What does hip hop have to do with health and wellness?  You can find these answers at eta Creative Arts’ educational wing: eta University where you began shaping your future as an entrepreneur, a Drone pilot, an award winning Costume Designer, etc.  In our interdisciplinary program approach, we understand the impact of performance media on our youth and community.  We therefore strive to offer them learning that will “take place in the air and on the ground,” providing them a variety of different approaches to learning.  eta University prepares our 21st century students for their 21st century lives.

CLASS: 3D PRINTING

Instructor: Julia Sowles-Barlow

Meets: LIVE (Once per week)

Starting On: Tuesday, April 5th; Ending June 21st (12 Weeks)

Time: 5:30 – 7:30pm

Cost: Free
Age: 16-Adult
Students will learn how to develop and design objects to be 3D printed. Objects such as masks, costume accessories, and props are included for those interested in theatre design.

CLASS: DANCE FOR CHILDREN

Instructors: Tyler Thompson & Pauline Mosley

Meets: LIVE (Once per week)

Starting On: Wednesday, April 6th; Ending June 22nd (12 Weeks)

Time: 4-5:30 PM

Cost $45

Our after-school class will teach contemporary techniques. Our young dancers will gain strength and flexibility while exploring their artistry!

 

CLASS: DANCE FOR ADULTS

Instructors: Tyler Thompson & Pauline Mosley

Meets: LIVE (Once per week)

Starting On: Saturday, April 9th; Ending June 25th (12 weeks)

Time: 2-3 PM

Cost $45

Our Saturday adult class will be a fun upbeat jazz class. We’ll sweat

and learn choreography to popular jazz hits!

CLASS: INTRODUCTION TO MODERN DEJAYING 

Instructor: DJ INC. Lavoy McConnell

Meets LIVE (Tuesdays & Thursdays) 

Starting On: Tuesday, April 5th; Ending Thursday, June 23rd (12 Weeks)

Time: 4-5:50pm

Cost $45 (ENROLLMENT CLOSED)

Age: 18 & Up 
Lecture and workshop course provides instruction in the art of the

modern mobile DJ. Students learn basic techniques in scratching

and basic forms of beat matching. Students learn mixing skills on

turntables and DVS Controllers featuring Serato Scratch Live

Professional DJ Software.

 

CLASS: DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY

Instructor: Ola Klimczak

Meets: LIVE (Once per week)

Starting On: Wednesday, April 6th; Ending June 22nd (12 Weeks)

Time 4:30 - 6:30 PM

Cost Free

Age: 16 & UP
Students will learn how to fly a drone safely and photograph from the air. They will learn about starting a business in drone photography and the economic impact they are expected to have as it relates to opportunity.

CLASS: ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Instructor: Philip Fairweather

Meets: VIRTUAL & LIVE (Once per week)

Starting On: Monday, April 4th; Ending June 20th (12 Weeks)

Time 4-5:30 pm

Students will learn how to start any business with a focus on the arts,

and technology. Students will learn about, marketing, finance, branding, personal responsibility, and all aspects related to starting a business.

CLASS: HEALTH & WELLNESS WORKSHOP DREAM AGAIN!

Instructor: Mickie Valentine 

Class Meets: VIRTUAL (Once per week)

Starting On: Thursday, April 7th; Ending May 26th, 2022 (8 Weeks)

Materials: Workbook will be provided by the instructor.
This workshop is for individuals that are ready to start over, seize life,

gain stability, and retake their destiny from the clutches of heartache,

lost vision, and the devastation of financial turmoil. You will create and implement a plan, set goals and objectives, identify, and slay those

dream killers, and most of all, begin the ascent to build resilience and

finish strong.

CLASS: HEALTH & WELLNESS HIP HOP THERAPY

Instructor: Jairo Lozano
Meets: VIRTUAL (Once per week)

Ages: 13 & Up
Materials: Beats (provided by Jairo and students), accessible via a link

to an e-Storage box. E.g. Google Drive, DropBox, etc.

CLASS: MENTORSHIP EXPERIENCE FOR GIRLS

Instructor: Teianna Cooper

Meets: LIVE (Once per week)

New Start Date: Monday, April 25th; Ending June 13th, 2022 (8 Weeks)

Time: 6-7:30pm

Duration: 1 1/2 Hrs.

The Mentorship Experience strives to guide and support youth to create

a path for their own to success. We aspire to equip every young girl with the fundamental skills to build discernment, self-esteem, self-trust, self-preservation, and protection in a loving approach.

CLASS: SAX & JAZZ LESSONS

Instructor: Eric Ballenger

Meets: VIRTUAL (Once per week)
Starting On: Saturday, April 9th;
Ending May 28th (8 Weeks)
Time: 2-3 PM

Age: Ages 9-14
Materials: Saxophone
Saxophone Group Lesson: To teach a 12-week course for group saxophone lessons. This class is designed for a maximum of 15 students ages 9-14, of all ability levels. Lessons will focus on basic saxophone
skills and jazz. Students will learn how to play the saxophone, read music and perform essential elements of jazz.

This course will provide an outlet for students to experience African American culture through jazz music and performance.

CLASS SEWING & DESIGN

Instructor: Felicia Oliver

Meets: LIVE (Tuesdays)

Starting on: Tuesday, May 17th; Ending Tuesday, July 5th

(8 Weeks)

Time 4-5:30 pm

Ages: 9 & Up
Materials: $5
Sewing Machines & Fabric (provided by instructor) Students will learn how to either develop a jacket {active wear} and backpack or a hoodie with a matching backpack while introducing basic/advanced sewing skills used in the fashion industry.
