Shelia -Marie Robinson

Shelia Marie has brought her eclectic artistry to stages across Chicago, taking on thrilling, unconventional, and even avant-garde roles— performing on water, on sand-filled stages, and everywhere in between. She has portrayed characters from works by acclaimed playwrights, including Suzan-Lori Parks’ The Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, where she starred as the unforgettable “Woman with a Fried
Drumstick.” Some of her stage credits include: King Lear and Women in Shakespeare (Piven Theatre Workshop), Flyin’ West (Illinois Theatre Center), Who’s Next: The Musical (Collaboraction Theatre), and Victims of Duty (A Red Orchid Theatre).Women of Freedom (Hardworktellingstories) Mop and Bucket Blues( ETA Theatre) Artemisia Theatre and Laughing Stock Theatre.

A proud Chicago native, Ms. Robinson holds a B.A. in Theatre and Broadcasting from Roosevelt University. Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Development and Speech and Drama from Kennedy-King Collage. She trained under Joyce and Byrne Piven at Piven Theatre Workshop and studied with the legendary Uta Hagen.

On screen, her credits include The Coleman Show (Amazon Prime, Season 1, Episode 9), Losing Isaiah (Paramount Pictures), The Law of Moises (Ark Productions), and stand-in work on Fox's hit series Empire. She has also lent her talents to voice-overs, PSAs, and industrial commercials.

Teaching and producing Credits: Vanderpoel Academy / Cullen Elementary Teacher Assistant and Drama Instructor Gallery 37 / After School Matters Schools, including Tilden High School and Westinghouse College Prep. Other professional teaching experience includes work at Chicago Park District, Touch of Classical Plus, Imagination Theater – Drama Instructor (students with special needs and gifted learners) Urban Gateways / Piven Theater Workshop Touring Company – Actor / Teaching Artist.
