In this celebration of the power of Black womanhood, eight women share their stories and find strength in each other’s humor and passion through a fusion of poetry, dance, music, and song that explodes off the stage and resonates with all.
For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf is one of the most influential and groundbreaking works in American theater history.
Written by Ntozake Shange in 1975, the piece transformed how Black women’s stories, pain, joy, sexuality, spirituality, and resilience were represented on stage.
