Instructor - Writing ( Teens)

Coryandre Wright

Coryandre Wright hails from the South Suburb of Country Club Hills, IL. Wright started his career behind a corporate desk at BET Networks sales office in Chicago. While there, he balanced his time with musical theater and dance. Once he mastered dance techniques and finally was able to fit the costume, he booked a
tour with “Playhouse Disney” in Italy, where he fell in love with storytelling. His first produced play spearheaded the late-night series for The Black Ensemble Theater. Determined to stop Sallie Mae from sending threatening letters, Wright decided to write for television and enrolled in the MFA in Screenwriting program at DePaul University, where I graduated with distinction. He also took classes at the renowned Second City.

Wright wrote and performed two one-man shows, "Coryandre presents To Infinity and Beyonce" and "Coryandre is the Perfect Angel: A Tribute to Minnie Riperton”. He continued to explore his voice penning four pilots, two short films, and a feature. He was also featured in a stand-up showcase at Riddle’s Comedy
Club.

Wright was an associate producer for the 20th Anniversary of Jackie’s Back, and the films, “Burden”, “It Can Be Done”, “In the Meantime”,“90 Days”, and the Emmy-nominated “All Boys Aren’t Blue” with iN-Hale Entertainment. Recently, he penned “Triumph Over Tragedy: Tulsa 100 Years Later”, a documentary featuring Angela Rye. He worked as a writers’ assistant on Black-ish, Mixed-ish, Mayans, Sex Lives of College Girls, The Vince Staples’ Show, as well as many other hit shows that are the cultural pulse of television. Wright’s goal is to share the knowledge he’s obtained and found beneficial in his career.
